Classification and Applicable Scenarios of Fire Windows
Jan 23,2026
1. Classify by open status
Fixed fireproof window: no window sash, non openable, suitable for firewalls or fireproof partitions that do not require ventilation.
Active fireproof window: equipped with a window sash opening and closing control device, which can be manually or automatically opened, and needs to meet the automatic closing function in case of fire. It is suitable for places that require ventilation (such as refuge floors and equipment rooms).
2. Classified by thermal insulation performance
Class A (insulation type): It meets both fire integrity and insulation requirements and is divided into Class A (≥ 1.5 hours), Class B (≥ 1 hour), and Class C (≥ 0.5 hours). Suitable for densely populated areas (such as shopping malls, hospitals) or high-rise building firewalls.
Class C (non insulated): Only meets the requirements for fire integrity, and the fire resistance time is usually ≥ 0.5 hours. Suitable for exterior walls with insufficient fire separation distance or areas with lower insulation requirements.
3. Classify by material
Steel fireproof windows: with strong fire resistance, commonly used in industrial buildings or high-rise buildings.
Aluminum alloy fireproof window: lightweight, corrosion-resistant, suitable for residential or commercial buildings.
Wooden fireproof window: needs to be filled with fireproof core board, has a beautiful appearance, and is suitable for residential decoration.
